For Immediate Release:
Pittsburgh, PA – February 6, 2023 – For the second consecutive year, Print and Graphics Scholarship Foundation (PGSF) is accepting applications for funds in the form of a grant to support educators and students in graphic communications.
The response to our first year of this program was amazing and we were thrilled to be able to support education in graphic communications in a variety of ways. Funds were allocated to high schools, community colleges, and universities.
PGSF’s goal is to inform students of the many career opportunities available in Graphic Communications by supporting educators and students in these programs. In 2022, we gave over $80,000.00 in grant funds to 17 institutions.
PGSF has $100,000.00 earmarked for 2023 in grant funds.
Funds were distributed to purchase equipment, go towards travel expenses, and host guest speakers. Purchases of equipment included funds towards a heat press, a digital press and replacing a head for a printer. Many students benefitted from attending industry events such as Skills USA, a yearbook camp, UCDA Design Education Summit Conference and AdobeMAX
2022 Impact
The student’s attending AdobeMAX submitted a video showcasing their visit and appreciation for the support. View the video HERE.
A letter from a student sent to PGSF from Western Michigan University shared the impact that resulted from receiving funds:
“My last fall semester at WMU was also boosted to a great start through the courtesy of PGSF, by funding my travels due to the acceptance of an Educational Grant to attend the Aimcal R2R Conference in Orlando, Florida in September. The networking, memories, and intel I gained from this experience is very substantial and meaningful to me. It was also my first time flying or staying at a hotel alone, so that was a very fun new experience.”
