Pat Klarecki Receives the 2024 John Berthelsen Award

Pittsburgh, PA – October 28, 2024 — The Print and Graphics Scholarship Foundation (PGSF), a nonprofit organization working to build the future workforce of the graphic communications industry through educational scholarships, is pleased to announce this year’s recipient of the Annual John Berthelsen Award is Pat Klarecki, Professor of Graphic Media Management and Graphic Communications at Ferris State University in Michigan. This annual honor is awarded to someone who exemplifies the ideals and actions of John Berthelsen in furthering the education of students interested in graphic arts. In its third year, this award is given to a deserving individual or group that exemplifies the ideals and practices of John over his many years of dedicated service to the industry and affiliated organizations.
Pat was presented with his award at an event at the University on October 22. The event was attended by Pat’s students, Logan Jones, the Dean of the College of Business, Linda Goulet, Associate Dean, Jeff Ek, Department Chair, and Dr. Robert P. Fleischman, Provost of the University. Debbie Bohan, Director of Administration for PGSF, personally presented Pat with the award.
In accepting the award, Pat said, “I am very honored to be in such great company as John Berthelsen and Bernie Eckert. Being recognized by a diverse group of industry leaders for everything I have done in my career is the ultimate validation for a life of purpose.”
